“It’s great to have the ability for guests or their coordinators to approve something electronically and have it be a binding contract. When they click ‘approve,’ they immediately approve whatever is on the contract. You can’t do that through Google Calendar.” – Joshua Lang General Manager Download the case study A fun, memorable experience is pretty much guaranteed after a visit to Southside Social. Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Southside Social operates as a bowling alley, bar, game spot, eatery, and event venue, all rolled into one. Founded in 2015, Southside Social boasts 10 bowling lanes, three bars, lounge seating complete with flat-screen TVs, an indoor gaming area with everything from pool tables to shuffleboard, an outdoor courtyard with bocce ball, fire pits and more. As their private events program continued to grow, their General Manager Joshua Lang knew they needed a software that would help them manage and continue that growth. For that, Southside Social turned to Gather. To help streamline their growing events business and meet their industry-specific needs, Southside Social turned to Gather to… Streamline their processes Before Gather, Joshua says Southside Social was tracking events manually through programs like Google Calendar. “We’d just get basic info like [the client’s] name, guest count, phone number and what room they wanted to book,” he explains. Over time, as they added order minimums and began booking more events, it was increasingly important for them to get signed contracts as quickly as possible, so payments could be approved electronically, and they wouldn’t be worried about clients canceling or not paying on time. Keep event details in one organized place Joshua says another thing that drew Southside Social to Gather was the ability to keep documents organized. “You can print BEOs for chefs and servers and they’re beautiful,” he adds. “The documents are easy to read, digestible, and you have all the details and contact info that you need.” Eliminate the possibility of double-booking With Google Calendar, Joshua says it was difficult to see the “big picture” when it came to their events program — plus, dates could accidentally get double-booked. “With the dialog box on Gather that tells you when you’ve already got an event for a certain day or time,” Joshua explains that bookings never slip through the cracks.
