How to Turn Past Leads into New Business

By Lisa Lotyczewski | 2 min read

Last week, we hosted Gather Live in Washington, DC to bring together local Gather users for a day of networking and learning. The customer event hosted at Dacha Loft & Beer Garden included a best-practices session, a preview of what’s coming soon for our product and a panel of local experts.

In our best-practices session, one of our Client Success Manager’s talked to the group about how to use Gather to drive repeat business. Repeat business is a much easier sell – there’s a 65% chance that a guest who’s already booked with you will book again. Compare that to the fact that there’s a 13% chance at converting a new prospect, focusing on past clients is worthwhile!

How to Turn Past Leads into New Business

1. Identify your baseline

Check out your data from the past year. See which events were the most profitable and who was booking with you. (This info can be found in under 5 minutes in Gather!)

2. Outline priorities

Take a look at what your most popular and most lucrative event types are.

3. Create a pipeline

Create a process to re-engage past clients to capitalize on repeat business based on your priorities.

4. Set sales goals

Refer back to your baseline and set a sales goal for the upcoming year.

This path is a great place to get started with a re-engagement strategy. To find out more on how to do this in Gather, reach out to clientsuccess@gatherhere.com!

We also learned a lot about how to deal with today’s industry challenges from our local experts. Thanks to our panelists Nancy Baxter, Director of Catering for ThinkFoodGroup; Monika Dawson, Business Development for Tin Shop; and Elizabeth McNeal, Sales Manager for Ruth’s Hospitality Group.
